The King of Jungle is being generated again – but will that hurt Wukong’s popularity? All about it and what else awaits us in League of Legends Patch 10.9. Spoiler: The meta is affected.
April 29 is the day. League of Legends Patch 10.9 is set to go live – and it has already been announced that it will once again bring some nerfs and buffs to the Summoner’s Rift. The LoL update 10.8 had already changed a few things and showed some new champion possibilities, especially in the Jungle.
Once again, Riot Games focuses on Jungle, while also changing some supporters:
League of Legends Patch Notes 10.9
Thank you, Riot Games! Obviously they realized that the King of Jungle is still too strong, they talk about “OP” themselves. Let’s wait and see if the nerfs change anything here. If so the monkey will soon be less omnipresent. Karthus Nerf was also urgently needed, after all, he could make all his camps in felt three minutes until now. But we disagree about Trundle: the champion hasn’t been at the top of the meta for very long, so why nerf him?
When it comes to supporters though, we’re right there with Riot, it was necessary to tame Bard and Nami, the support meta is virtually dominated by them. Here comes a complete overview of the upcoming nerfs:
Jungle Nerfs in LoL Update 10.9
Karthus
- Movement speed from 335 to 325
Trundle
- R-Cooldown from 100-60 sec. to 120-80 sec.
Wukong
- Armor from 34 to 31
- Q-damage from 30-130 to 20-120
- W clone damage from 40-60% to 35-55
Support Nerfs in LoL Update 10.9
Bard
- Movement speed (W) from 50% to 30%.
- W-Cooldown from12 sec. to 14 sec.
- E-cooldown from 18-14 sec. to 22-16 sec.
Nami
- Base Healing from 489.32 to 475
- Base Mana from 277.24 to 265
- Passive movement speed from 60 to 45
But it’s not just nerfs that LoL Patch 10.9 is generous with. Some buffs will also cause a stir in the meta. The changes to Kayn and Gnar point to new skins, but you should be careful with buffs for Quinn and Lissandra. This is where the balance point towards OP could be crossed. Cho’Gath’s improvement is not too strong, Fiddlesticks on the other hand is changed in a way that we might see him more often on Bot Lane now.
All buffs in LoL Update 10.9
Cho’Gath
- E-damage from 22-70 to 22-84
Fiddlesticks
- E-damage from 70-190 to 70-210
Gnar
- Q-Cooldown from 60% to 70%
- E-damage from 50-190 to 80-220
Kayn
- Q-Cooldown from 7-5 sec. to 6-4 sec.
- Q-Bonus damage now also affects Minions
- W-Slow from 70% to 90%
Lissandra
- Q-Cooldown from 10-4 sec. to 8-4 sec.
Quinn
- Q duration from 1.5 sec. to 1.75 sec.
FPX Skins in LoL Update 10.9
Riot Games already revealed the FPX skins to Lee Sin, Vayne, Thresh, Malphite and Gangplank. The five skins are in honor of FunPlus Phoenix 3-0 win over G2 Esports in the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.
Although it has not yet been officially confirmed that the FPX skins will come in patch 10.9. But we can hope, after all, Riot Games themselves said they would come soon – and that was a few days ago. So soon should be the next patch.
There’s still a week until April 29, enough time to familiarize yourself with the tier list of Patch 10.8 before the meta faces new challenges again. Also, Legends of Runeterra will be released soon, with Quinn as one of the first champions. Let’s wait and see what Riot will give us there…
