Fans of League of Legends can expect the announced Pool Party with brand new skins for Syndra, Orianna and others in Patch 10.13. In addition, there are buffs and nerfs – because where there is light, there is also shadow… Here are the complete patch notes.
A few of the steel feet relax in the water, will already not rust… Our winner of the pool party skins this time is definitely Orianna. Who would expect a splashing robot? But what else does League of Legends Patch 10.13 bring?
Important buffs
In patch 10.13 there were many positive changes to the champions:
- Gnar
- Kog’Maw
- Lucian
- Nocturne
- Nunu
- Rakan
- Ryze
- Vi
- Yorick
Let’s talk about the more obvious changes.
Gnar Buff in LoL Patch 10.13
Rito: “We think Gnar’s better attack speed provides safety because he struggles with wide-range fighters in matchups”.
Riot Games is finally taking pity on Gnar in Patch 10.13. Lately, Gnar has been struggling with a certain someone in the top lane that we’ll mention later. Gnar’s E, Hop, has been increased from 20/30/40/50/60% to 40/45/50/55/60% in terms of his attack speed. This can only mean one thing: more aggression.
EarlyGame Tip: If you play Gnar, you should always choose the Q, Boomerang, first. You tend to die early because you lack the tank stats that benefit you later in the game. So if you take Q first, followed by W, Hyper, and then Q and E, Hop, you’ll have more attack speed and thus more damage. If you pack Frozen Mallet, you’ll have a lot of fun in Summoner’s Rift.
Lucian Buff in LoL Patch 10.13
Riot: “Even with the specific ranged buffs he received earlier, Lucian is in a weak position in the bot lane. This is mainly because he is often overrun by his enemies. However, his skills have been improved so that he can dash back to the path of vengeance.”
Lucian’s Q, Piercing Light, went up in range from 900 to 1000. What does that mean? More dueling potential. Lucian is an early-game power house, but not until later in the game.
EarlyGame Tip: The additional range increase from LoL Patch 10.13 is to be used. Lucian wins the lane if you keep the opponents in fence. But don’t venture too far!
Kog’Maw Buff in LoL Patch 10.13
Riot: “In Kog’Maw, we’re throwing players a few abilities to boost alternate builds. This way to the adventure! (Willump Sounds)”
While this change is small for Nunu, it is a welcome one. With the additional Ability Power added to the Q, Nunu will have more chances to take different build routes within the game.
Q – Consume:
- Damage Ratio: 0.5 Ability Power to 0.65 Ability Power
- Healing Ratio:0.7 Ability Power to 0.9 Ability Power
His Ultimate, Absolute Zero, had an increase in Bonus Health and an additional increase in Ability Power. Nunu remains strong and will continue this trend through Patch 10.13. How these Ability Power changes will play out remains to be seen.
R – Absolute Zero:
- Shield Ratio: 0.3/0.4/0.5 Bonus Health to 0.3/0.4/0.5 Bonus Health, 1.5 Ability Power.
EarlyGame-Tip: The proof of the pudding is in the experimenting: just try out all Ability Power builds! If tank stats are needed, then of course that has prio. But surprising builds surprise the opponent – and that can bring victory.
Important nerfs
Riot Games has generated some champions for patch 10.13. Most of them are not a big surprise for us:
- Aphelios
- Kassiopeia
- Kalista
- Ornn
- Syndra
- Yuumi
First, thank you Riot Games for nerfing Yuumi. This cat is out of control in patch 10.12. Out, Yuumi, out!
Yuumi Nerf in LoL Patch 10.13
Yuumi’s E, Zoomies, now has a 15% increase in max mana cost in patch 10.13, – much to the satisfaction of the community. This increase should stop her infinite healing, which, as we saw in the pro game over the weekend, was being abused:
Ornn Nerf in LoL Patch 10.13
In our previous patch notes discussion, we mentioned that Ornn is simply broken right now: the champion who can do anything. Kinda. Ornn’s passive, Living Forge, now retains the previous health and mana percentages. Hopefully that should make him less dangerous in the pro game.
The pros will still go for Ornn, but hopefully this change in the top lane will bring some variety to the LoL Esports scene. We still think that some changes should be made to his overall health and armor, but we’ll have to see how patch 10.13 does.
Aphelios nerf in LoL patch 10.13
Riot: “Aphelios hasn’t slowed down with the moons, instead he’s a persistent star in the pro game.”
Aphelios continues to be knocked down in patch 10.13. His attack damage has been reduced from 2.2 to 2. His biggest change was the removal of the reset of his Q, Crescendum. It no longer resets the duration of chakram on epic monsters.
This change will have an impact on proplay, but his kit is so hard to balance that, as we’ve mentioned in other patch notes, he will still be an S+Priority pick for players this coming weekend.
The patch in brief
Conclusion
League of Legends experienced some much-needed adjustments to Yuumi, Aphelios, Ornn, and Syndra, which dominated all lanes in LoL. For the full list of patch notes, check out Riot Games’ article on Patch 10.13.
