Patch 10.16 has been applied to the test server – and with it came the PTR patch notes and Yone, one of the new champions. What are his abilities? What stats does he have? Find out here!
Riot Games is currently showering us with leaks, information and new content. No sooner had we tuned into patch 10.14 than Lillia arrived. With her came Patch 10.15 and the Soul Blossom Festival – and now we’re already telling you about a not-so-distant Patch 10.16 and the next champion. Yone will join the League on August 4. Much like his brother, Yasuo, he is a samurai and let’s get one thing straight: His skills are hyping the entire community right now!
Yone’s Skills
Passive – Way of the Hunter:
Yone uses two swords, every other attack deals 50% magic damage. His critical hit chance is doubled, but he does 10% less damage with critical hits.
EarlyGame Note: The passive is very similar to Yasuo’s. The fact that Yone can do so much magic damage as an AD champion makes him a problem for any tank. Building defense against hybrids is almost impossible, if they then permanently hit crit…. Imagine it yourself – we as a tank say: Ouch!
Q – Mortal Steel
Yone thrusts forward with his sword, dealing 20/45/70/95/120 (+100% Total AD) physical damage.
- When he hits, he gets a buff (no name available yet) and with 2 charges, he sprints forward in a wall of wind and flings hit enemies into the air for 0.75 seconds. In doing so, he deals 20/45/70/95/120 (+100% Total AD) physical damage.
- No cost.
- Cooldown 4 seconds.
- The skill can critically hit, causes hit effects, and its cooldown is reduced by attack speed.
EarlyGame Note: Well, what can you say? Yasuo and Yone definitely had the same teacher. Or how do you see it?
W – Spirit Cleave
- Yone cleaves enemies in front of him, dealing 5/10/15/20/25 + 6/6.5/7/7.5/8% max Health physical damage and 5/10/15/20/25 + 6/6.5/7/7.5/8% max Health magic damage.
- When Yone hits, he generates a shield equal to [40-75] (60% Total AD) for 1.5 seconds. The value of the shield increases for each champion hit.
- For the first additional champion hit, the shield increases by 100%, then by 25% each time thereafter.
- No cost.
- Cooldown 16 seconds.
EarlyGame Note: Did we mention the benefit of hybrid damage? So here’s more of it, plus a free shield that makes lane countering seem almost impossible.
E- Soul Unbound
Yone assumes a ghost form for 5 seconds and gains 10-30% movement speed. When the ghost form ends, Yone returns to his body. He deals 25/27.5/30/32.5/35% of the damage he dealt during the ability again.
- The ability can be activated again to end it early.
- No cost.
- Cooldown 22/19/16/13/10 seconds.
EarlyGame Note: His E will definitely be the most difficult ability. You have to think carefully about when to use it, as the cooldown is very high at the beginning. However, once you master Yone, you can take out an entire team from a safe distance. A very interesting aspect of a melee fighter. In combination with his charged Q, the deadly combos can only be guessed at.
R – Fate Sealed
Yone hits all enemies in his path, dealing 100/200/300 (+40% Total AD) physical damage and 100/200/300 (+40% Total AD) magic damage. Yone then teleports behind the last champion hit and flings all enemies hit in his direction.
- If no enemy is hit, Yone teleports the maximum distance.
EarlyGame Note: Admit it, you were just thinking the same thing we were! H-Y-B-R-I-D. Add to that his R-Q combo with two knock ups and the subsequent cleave, allowing him a huge shield…. This makes Yone one hell of a dangerous opponent. Def stats don’t seem to save you anyway. We fear that the samurai won’t care who gets hit by his sword. Watch out!
Yones Stats
- Base HP – 550
- HP5 – 7.5
- HP per level – 90
- HP regeneration per level – 0.15
- Base armour – 28
- Armour per level – 3

- Base attack damage – 60
- Attack damage per level – 2.5
- Attack speed per level – 2.5

These are the current numbers on the PTR. Compared to similar champions
like Yasuo everything is within the limits.
His kit seems incredibly strong on paper. We’re curious to see if Riot will change the numbers by Wednesday and what Yone can do in the hands of a pro!? In any case, we feel like playing Yone right away and are afraid to face him. What do you think of his kit, have you checked out the latest patch notes yet? Tell us about it on Facebook or Twitter!
