Lots of new stuff for Legends of Runeterra fans: emotes, card backs, a protector and more. Plus some buffs and nerfs for various cards. Here are the most important changes.

The Legends of Runeterra Patch Notes 1.2 are here and they are damn long. So the card game update is packed with great new things and balance changes. For this, Riot wants to patch the game every other Tuesday 19:00 CEST from now on, but display the changes only 24 hours later. Thus, all platforms should be able to access the innovations at the same time.

Game balance in “Rising Tide”.

“With Rising Tide, we’ve adjusted some of our internal metrics to better keep track of the state of the meta,” Riot Games said. Every other patch, once a month, data from games will be used to adjust maps and the meta in general based on various criteria. The goal, according to Riot, is:

“Our overall goal for the game’s balance is to have a fair and diverse meta where every champion can achieve their gameplay dream. In doing so, we don’t expect all champions to be equally effective at the highest level of play. What is important is that each champion can enable and achieve exciting gameplay moments.

That sounds promising, doesn’t it? And already, a variety of maps have been changed to balance the meta.

Card backs and emotes

Card backs and emotes don’t bring any game advantage, of course, but they are always nice. That’s why there are now four new stickers and a card back with a sword on it.
