What is this list?

The legends of world soccer in your own team – that can be a lot of fun. And especially if you want to craft a team with different leagues, icons are very useful – because they build chemistry connections with each player.

The problem: The best icons in FIFA 22 are ridiculously expensive. Players like Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Pelé, Maradona and co. are very, very hard to get and you have to earn a lot of coins for them. Of course, you can try icon packs, for example from the icon swaps – but here you need damn good luck to get a strong one and can lose a lot of coins.

That’s why it can be worthwhile to have a look at the “cheaper” icons. There are some cards here that are worthwhile and can help your team with both chemistry and abilities. If you look around the lower price range of current icons – that is, between 70,000 and 150,000 coins – you’ll find plenty of cards. We’ll show you 5 that can be worthwhile here. Roy Keane

Price: about 133.000 coins

With Keane, you get quite an all-purpose weapon in central midfield, but he can be used wonderfully, especially for defensive purposes. That’s why the Shadow style is quite popular here, to emphasize Keane’s defender qualities a bit more.

Keane already existed in the form of an icon SBC, which is why his price has dropped noticeably in the meantime. If you missed or ignored the SBC back then, this might be the right opportunity to get Keane.

Ashley Cole

Price: about 139.000 coins

What makes Cole:

Particularly on the flanks, icons can be very useful in linking the central defense with alternative offensive options. Ashley Cole is a really good choice in this regard.

Equip him with a Shadow style and you get a left-back with very high pace and defensive values. His overall value may not look like it, but the Englishman can give you a lot of security in defense even against fast opponents. Only offensively, there are certainly better options.

Davor Šuker

Price: about 127,000 coins

That makes Šuker:

Don’t let the card’s 85 overall rating fool you! This card basically has everything you need in a strong offense. Especially pace and shot are really strong if you optimize them with a Hunter style.

Finishing in the penalty area is what makes Šuker particularly dangerous. Here he has extremely strong stats. A small fly in the ointment, at most, is his physicality – with Stamina 84, you might have to replace him in the course of the second half.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Price: about 135.000 coins

That’s what makes Schweinsteiger:

If you see an outfielder with less than 90 speed, many FIFA players immediately get the crisis. However, you can use a trick with Schweinsteiger: If you line him up on the left wing for good chemistry, you can order him into the middle in the game. And this is where the Bayern legend shines.

Schweinsteiger can set up balls dangerously, but he can also make decent shots at the box himself. His passing and dribbling values are also perfectly adequate for a role as a ZM. And you can also push the defensive value a bit – it’s best to use a shadow style.

Hernán Crespo

Price: About 97.500 coins

That’s what makes Crespo:

The Argentine is a good choice if you want to change things up a bit in the offense. He is the cheapest card in this list, but still has some qualities.

Crespo is also one of those strikers who can shine as an ice-cold goal scorer, especially in the sixteen. Equip him best with an Engine or Hunter to make the shot even more dangerous.

An advantage of the Base Crespo card over his other versions: The Lean body type. The Base variant of Crespo is exceedingly agile and can maneuver into promising situations somewhat faster than the “stronger” Crespo versions.
