In FIFA22, there are plenty of special cards that are setting the tone in Ultimate Team right now. Which gold cards actually still stand out?
Every year there is a lot of guesswork: Which players will get the best rating in the new FIFA? Many fans look forward to the new values, which then land on the gold cards of the players.
But it often doesn’t take long for the “normal” cards to be overtaken by special cards from events and simply aren’t enough to stand up to the improved values of the competition.
Especially now, in March, you can see: Events like #FUT Fantasy, FUT Birthday and the like simply bring an extremely large number of cards into play that have a strong impact on the “power curve” in Ultimate Team.
But there are still a few gold cards that can keep up. We’ll take a look at those here and give the current price (on PlayStation – via futbin). Because: Some of them are now affordable, but still strong.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Price: about 118.000 coins
That’s what makes Ronaldo:
Ronaldo may not have quite the speed he once did, but he can still pick up decent pace with an engine style. His shooting stats are beyond reproach, and he continues to be a weapon in head-to-head duels.
With his 5-star skills, CR7 is still red-hot when it comes to dribbling. Moreover, as a Manchester United striker, he brings the handy links to the Premier League.
In short, Ronaldo’s 91 total is still a card that can get you ahead in Ultimate Team. What’s more, at 118,000 coins, he’s now significantly cheaper than some special cards.
Lionel Messi
Price: about 92.500 coins
That’s what makes Messi:
Lionel Messi gets feats done with his feet that others can’t do with two hands. The Argentine has shooting, passing, and dribbling skills that still easily keep up, even in the face of special-card competition.
The tempo can be pushed up via Hunter style, so Messi is still a darn strong card even at this point. Especially when you move him from the wing to central attacking midfield, Messi remains a constant scoring threat for your opponent.
I wonder if Messi and Ronaldo will still be as strong in the next game.
Neymar
Price: about 80.000 coins
That’s what makes Neymar:
Even now, the Neymar gold card is still one of the best cards in the game when it comes to dribbling. Neymar simply plays differently than other players in that regard.
Add to that the still lethal combination of 5 stars on a weak foot and skills. The Brazilian is one of the most dangerous and hardest to predict cards in the game thanks to these skills and his stats.
N’golo Kanté
Price: About 54.000 coins
That’s what makes Kanté:
When you see N’golo Kanté on the opposing team, you can expect a little extra effort when it comes to creating offensive chances.
The midfielder is the epitome of the proverbial vacuum cleaner, magically attracting opposing passes and simply picking off dribbling attackers. Only himself he is not very offensively oriented – you should keep that in mind.
Mbappé
Price: about 515.000
That’s what makes Mbappé:
You can see that Mbappé’s gold card still has a lot on it just by looking at the fact that the Frenchman still costs more than 500,000 coins despite the great competition. But that’s no wonder either.
Mbappé is still super fast, tricky and a strong finisher. The 91 card is still one of the best you can set up in Ultimate Team – special cards or not.
Speaking of top cards, one of the best players has just been removed from FIFA 22.
