Because developer Sledgehammer has apparently listened and is actively addressing many of the issues. A blog post explains the changes in the release version compared to the beta. We summarize the most important ones for you here.

1. player visibility

Keeping the enemy in sight was often not easy in the beta, because an excessive number of effects disturbed the view. This is about to change: The developers reduce smoke, muzzle flash and heat flicker when shooting and remove some disturbing weather effects like glaring sunlight and water drops in the image. Shooting should benefit enormously from these changes.

2. sound effects & audio

Muffled noises, barely audible footsteps: The sound problems of the beta should now be a thing of the past. Sledgehammer has completely reworked the sound mix. Footsteps should now be well audible, unless you move crouched or use the new perk “Walk”. Ninja, which was designed for stealthy action.

In addition, the operators and the match announcer should no longer speak up so often, which quickly became annoying in the beta. You can hear this for example in our 10 minute gameplay summary from the beta:

3rd spawn system

The spawn logic has been reworked and should prevent us from entering the game too close to enemies in the future, as was often the case in the beta. A bug that caused broken spawns in the new Patrol game mode has been fixed. But also during and after the launch, the spawn behavior will be closely monitored and further adjusted.

4th Weapon Balance

Many beta players also criticized the plodding gameplay, so the hold-down effect of barrages will be weakened, weapon switching will be sped up, and you’ll be more likely to fire when you’re at full sprint. Also, the very weak shotguns of the beta get a buff to their damage. Gunsmith attachments like gun barrels, magazines, and ammo types have also been reworked for better balance.
