In Fortnite, you can travel long distances to escape danger thanks to vehicles. But Epic Gameschanged changed the means of transport so that they offer even more functionality than before. We’ll show you what you can do with them now.
What means of transport are there? In Chapter 2 – Season 8 there are the motorboat, cars and trucks as means of transportation. These are scattered wildly around the map. Some can be driven, others are equipped with immobilizers. Here are all the types of cars listed again:
- Islander Prevalent (4-seater)
- Victory Motors Whiplash (2 seater)
- OG Bear (4 seater)
- Titano Mudflap (2 seater)
- Motorboat (4 seater)
A long-awaited feature that the community wanted in Fortnite was cars. Since the map of Chapter 2 is very huge, it was tedious to traverse the map without a means of transportation.
Epic didn’t comment on this, but by all appearances, something about the cars has been changed that gives you the option to stand on them.
We’ll show you what you should definitely test with the cars.
1. you can now take injured players with you
A horrible scenario that has surely happened to one or two players: You are in a fight and one of your mates goes down.
Leaving behind is not an option
You see the only way out is to escape in a nearby vehicle. Before update 18.20 you would have left your colleague dying, but that is now a thing of the past.
So if a team overruns you, put the injured friend on your shoulders, throw him on a car and jet off with him.
2. more space for other players
In solos, duos or trios the feature is rather not that interesting, but it would be something for the group wedges mode. You can transport several people with the new mechanic.
To do this, 4 players get in the car and the rest jump on. It hasn’t been tested yet how many will eventually fit on the cars, but that should vary depending on the means of transportation.
3. stand on cars and shoot players
This feature proves most useful in combat. By being on the vehicle, you don’t run the risk of dying from a car exploding when confronted by an enemy. Thus, you’ll be more agile when it comes to combat.
Still, you are more protected inside a wagon, since the outer casing swallows a lot of bullets. It’s still worth a try. The best way to do this is to use the truck. Two players are in their usual places in the truck and the remaining two are on the trailer platform.
This way you will have prepared a nice surprise for your opponents and will provide some variety.
