The Hyper League in Pokémon GO has started and if you don’t want to invest a lot of stardust and candies, you can create 3 cheap teams that can dominate the league.
That’s what we show you here: The best Pokémon for the Hyper League can be quite expensive. There’s leveling up, teaching a second charge attack, and then switching attacks.
However, there are Pokémon where all this is quite inexpensive and you can save a lot of resources. In addition, they are still very useful in the league and can defeat some of the top counters.
Cheap Pokémon for the Hyper League
Team 1:
Relaxo (Licker and Bodyslam) | Sumpex (Clay Bell, Aqua Howitzer, and Earthquake) | Garados (Fire breath, crusher and hydro pump) |
Relaxo is often found in the wilderness with WP that is around 2500. Alternatively, you only need to invest a few candies to get it close to 2500 WP. It doesn’t even need to master a second charge attack and is really useful. With Schlecker, it effectively hits the countless Giratina in the Hyper League, and Bodyslam is quick to use and draws out the shields. In addition, it is quite stable in battle and if not just a combat attack is used, then it survives many charge attacks.
Sumpex then allows you to counter another popular Pokémon, Registeel. If you caught a Hydropi around level 30, you already have a Sumpex after evolving, which is close to 2500 WP. The second charge attack only costs 10,000 stardust and makes Sumpex more versatile. Loam Bark is a fast charge attack, which can flatten a Registeel almost by itself. Aqua howitzer is one of the best charging attacks in the game. A dangerous mixture.
Garados isn’t on the radar of many players, but it’s quite useful at that. A second charge attack for only 10,000 stardust and a level 25 Karpador speak for themselves. If you haven’t beaten Giratina with Relaxo, you can do it with Garados. Fire Ember and Crusher are effective against Giratina, and a Hydropump can make a decent dent in other Pokémon with neutral damage. Crunch is also effective against the many Psycho Pokémon in the league.
Team 2:
Togekiss (Charm, Antique Power and Flame Throw) | Glurak (Fire Whirl, Lohe Cannonade and Dragon Claw) | Bisaflor (Tendril Strike, Flora Statue and Mud Bomb) |
Before you develop a Togekiss, you must teach Togepi a second charge attack. This costs 10,000 stardust. A second charge attack for Togekiss costs 50,000 stardust. So you have a Togekiss with two charge attacks for cheap, which is pretty useful. The instant attack Charm effectively hits Giratina, you can defeat Registeel with Flame Throw, and Antique Power is good against Pokémon like Glurak or Regice.
Glurak is an important counter against Regice or Registeel. In addition, it also masters Dragon Claw, which is effective against Giratina and generally deals good damage and charges up quickly. The second charge attack only costs 10,000 dust and if you have Lohe Cannonade from Community Day, you can really deal damage with Glurak.
Bisaflor is then a good choice against the numerous Water Pokémon in the league. Sumpex, Turtok, or Lapras can be quickly defeated with this. With Lapras, you just have to make sure that your opponent doesn’t have an Ice-type instant attack. Just like Glurak, Bisaflor has a strong charge attack from Community Day and a second attack only costs 10,000 dust. There you can choose Mud Bomb, which is effective against Pokémon like Togekiss or Pixi.
Team 3:
Tornupto (Dark Claw, Lohe Cannonade and Solar Beam) | Lapras (Ice Shard, Ice Ray and Surfer) | Machomei (Counter, Stone Hail and Cross Slash) |
Tornupto is also easy to get and the second charge attack costs 10,000 stardust. With Dark Claw, you can surprise and counter some Giratina this way. Lohe Cannonade deals a lot of neutral damage and is strong against Registeel, for example. If you manage to charge Solar Beam, you’ll hit almost every Pokémon pretty hard and monsters like Lapras or Regirock will be defeated very quickly.
Lapras is quite a tank in battle. You’ll have to invest some dust to get it to a good level, but if it can handle the attacks Ice Shard and Ice Beam, then you don’t necessarily need a second attack either. Lapras was able to learn these two attacks during the last research breakthrough, for example. With ice attacks it effectively hits the plant Pokémon, but also monsters like Togekiss or Giratina and thus often used Pokémon. If you have enough dust, then teach it Surfer, because then it is still strong against Fire Pokémon.
Machomei is not the cheapest option, but it can be used outside of the PvP League. So if you invest the 75,000 dust and teach it Stone Hail, you can use it well in arenas. In PvP, Machomei is useful with these attacks against Lapras, Relaxo or Regirock. But also against monsters like Togekiss or Glurak thanks to Stone Hail.
Here’s what you need to keep in mind: These 3 teams do not immediately mean that you have the victory in the bag. If your opponent has the right counters, you’ll be on the ground in no time. With these teams you only have the most common Pokémon covered and save a lot of stardust. In the battle itself, you’ll have to be convincing and choose the right tactics.
