The PvP League in Pokémon GO has started and many players don’t want to spend too much stardust on it. Therefore, we show you Pokémon that are easy to get and still work well in PvP.
That’s what we want to show here: We will introduce you to PvP teams that are easy to build and still excel in the new PvP league. You don’t have to invest a lot of stardust to level them up, but you can use them directly for combat.
Also, the second charge attack doesn’t cost that much for many of these Pokémon, so you can definitely take the step here and teach them the attack.
Cheap Pokémon for the Super League
Team 1:
Altaria (Fire Ember, Sky Sweeper, Dragon Pulse) | Huddleuff (Charm, Huddle, Ice Beam) | Welsar (Clay Shot, Mud Bomb, Blizzard) |
Once you have the 400 candies of Altaria together, you can use it effectively for the PvP league right away. For an Altaria to be useful for the PvP League, it should be between level 26 and 32, depending on the IV. So you shouldn’t develop an extremely low level Wablu. The second charge attack only costs 10,000 stardust, and the instant attack Fire Ember alone will destroy a Pokémon or two. It is then hard to be resistant against its charge attacks. So you almost always hit halfway effectively.
Cuddle buff is pretty easy to get. You just need to develop a fairly high Pummeluff. It’s not until level 27 that Knuddeluff reaches WP that is just under 1,500. If you have such a Knuddeluff, then it is especially good against Altaria, which you often see in the league. Especially the instant attack charm is at least halfway useful against almost every guy.
Welsar can get close to 1,500 WP even at level 25, and Schmerbe sits on almost every corner, especially in sunny weather. Welsar learns Clay Shot, which is why it is so extremely useful. The instant attack is fast and charges the charge attacks well. Blizzard should surprise many enemies and Mud Bomb can be used quickly.
Team 2:
Stollrak (Metal Claw, Bodeslam, Stone Hail) | ALoLa Raichu (Thunder Shock, Thunder Strike, Strauchler) | Noctu (Wingbeat, Sky Sweeper, Psychokinesis) |
All the Stollunior you catch are finally useful. While Stolloss remains useless, Stollrak is not to be underestimated in PvP. Starting at level 25, it’s just under 1,500 WP. Steel Pokémon are brilliant in PvP mode because they have a lot of resistances. In addition, Stollrak can take on Altaria and also defeat many other monsters without any problems.
When you get ALoLa Raichu from the Raid, it has about 1300 WP. With some stardust, you can then get close to 1500 WP. ALoLa-Raichu is especially awesome for drawing out the shields from your opponent. Thunderclap is charged up pretty quickly. Strauchler is still important here, because it can ward off popular counters, such as Sumpex, well.
Noctu is easy to obtain thanks to the numerous Hoothoot. Starting at level 25, a Noctu is just under 1,500 WP. The owl Pokémon is surprisingly steadfast in battle, and its flying attacks are effective against Fighting, Beetle, and Plant types. However, its steadfastness makes it useful against almost any Pokémon.
Team 3:
Lanturn (Spark Jump, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt) | Panzaeron (Air Cut, Sky Sweep, Light Cannon) | Bibor (Poison Blow, Mud Bomb, Cross Scissors) |
Lampi really doesn’t sit on every corner, but if you have a Lanturn, you don’t need to change much. It already gets to 1,500 WP at level 25 and is especially a strong counter to the numerous Panzaeron and Azumarill that are currently being used. The second charge attack costs 50,000 stardust, but it’s not quite as crucial. It’s mainly the electric attacks that are important.
Panzaeron can be caught in the wild directly with the appropriate WP, making it ideal for PvP leagues. It also doesn’t really need the second charge attack Light Cannon, which costs 75,000 dust. It is enough to attack with the two flight attacks, because with them Panzaeron dominates almost every Pokémon and has few weaknesses.
Bibor is something every player should have in their ranks. After all, Hornliu can be found on almost every corner. Starting at level 28, Bibor can reach just under 1,500 WP and is especially worthwhile for destroying enemies’ shields. Cross Scissors is a fast charging attack and Mud Bomb also does good damage.
This is important: These Pokémon are only as good as their trainers are. If you have the wrong attacks on the monsters or simply don’t take advantage of the effective damage, then these Pokémon won’t be able to shine either. Therefore, pay close attention to the attacks and have in mind what is effective against your opponent.
