The new Call of Duty: Vanguard celebrates its release on November 05 and if you need more info before buying, here is a collection with many details about the download, the content and the new features in the game.

Call of Duty is already releasing the 18th main part of the shooter series with CoD: Vanguard. The franchise is based on fast-paced combat, lots of action and the merciless fight soldier vs. soldier.

If you’re thinking about buying Vanguard or are looking for all the important info at a glance, then you’ve come to the right place. MeinMMO presents 10 things that are important for the release.

1. everything about the release – times, download, costs

When does Vanguard launch? That depends on your platform. For consoles, the game will be released on 05/11 at 00:00 and can be launched. From 05:00 in the morning you can start Vanguard on the PC.

How much does the new CoD cost? PC gamers can get away a bit cheaper and have to put 10,- Euro less on the table for the corresponding editions. In total, you can choose between 3 editions:

• Standard Edition: 59,99 € (PC); 69,99 € (PlayStation and Xbox)
• Cross-Gen Edition: €79.99 (PlayStation and Xbox only)
• Ultimate Edition: €99.99 (PC); €109.99 (PlayStation and Xbox)

How big is the download? Again, your platform decides the size of the download:

2. pay attention to your edition when buying for console

What should you look for in editions? There are different versions of Vanguard on the console and you should pay close attention to which one is right for you.

For example, players on the Nex-Gen consoles will need the “Cross-Gen” edition if you buy the digital version to take advantage of better graphics and performance. It is also possible to buy a disc edition for the next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. However, these versions will not work on PS4 or Xbox One.

If you are still in the process of switching to the new consoles and are just starting out with a last-gen console, we always recommend the digital versions – they can be upgraded without any problems for a surcharge.

But don’t get the disc version of the Xbox One! It can’t be upgraded. The disc version of the PS4, however, can.

3rd Return to the Second World War

What setting does Vanguard offer? The CoD of 2021 goes back to the origin of the series and you fight for the freedom of mankind in World War II.

Whether in multiplayer or the campaign, you will experience many fronts at different times of the war, sending you almost across the globe. There are locations for:

• Western Front – France
• Eastern Front – Russia
• Pacific Front
• Africa Front
• Germany and Alps
• Italy
• Japan

It’s always about stopping the nasty Nazis from their plans of world domination – this also applies to the zombie mode, where you stop armored undead from overrunning Europe.

4. 3 major game modes – Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies.

What game modes does Vanguard come with? Like its two predecessors, Vanguard once again relies on the trinity of solo, PvP and co-op content.

What’s in it for solo players? There is a story campaign in which you relive the history of the very first special forces unit. You’ll take on the role of various Allied soldiers, first getting to know them individually and then accompanying them on the hunt for an unfriendly Nazi officer.

What’s up for PvP players? The core of Vanguard is once again the large multiplayer mode. In short battles you fight for every kill with almost 40 different weapons and many different equipment. The maps are distributed on different locations all over the world.

What’s in it for co-op players? If you prefer to shoot NPCs, then the zombie mode will suit you. Here you fight your way through large hordes of undead and either find out how long you can survive or what secrets are hiding on the first map “The Beginning”.

5. the biggest innovations of Vanguard

What’s different about CoD this year? Vanguard’s paid titles are released every year, and the developers always try to create something unique to make you remember a title very special. Vanguard is relying on some changes for this as well:

• Weaponsmith with 10 attachments
• Anti-cheat system “RICOCHET
• Revised zombie mode
• World War II Setting
• Combat Pacing
• Adjusted Movement
• Operator progress
• Destructible level elements
• Large amount of release content
• New standard mode “Patrol
• Return of the killstreaks

6. massive multiplayer content for the release

How much content will Vanguard offer at release? Unlike its predecessors Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare, Vanguard is packed with content at release.

It is not yet possible to estimate how big the campaign and the zombie mode will be. But the numbers from the multiplayer speak a clear language:

• 20 maps at launch
• Of which 16 6vs6 maps
• Almost 40 weapons to release
• 8 standard modes

7th New anti-cheat system “RICOCHET

What is the Anti-Cheat all about? Cheaters and hackers have been a plague of Call of Duty for years, and with the big free Battle Royale Warzone, the problem came further into focus.

With Vanguard, the CoD makers are virtually overhauling the entire security infrastructure in the background and are also introducing a kernel driver for PC players that runs in the background. RICOCHET consists of several parts:

• Server-side analysis tools
• Improved investigation processes
• Increase account security
• Kernel drivers on the PC

8. advantages for PlayStation players

What are the benefits for gamers on a PlayStation? As in previous years, PlayStation players get minor benefits, but there is no longer an exclusive mode on Sony consoles:

• Battle Pass bundle gives you 25 level jumps instead of 20
• PS Plus members get a bundle of exclusive cosmetics for free every month
• In a PlayStation player party you get 25% more weapon XP
• Monthly double XP events for 24 hours
• 2 additional loadout slots for equipment

9th Warzone gets the Vanguard engine and new map

How are Warzone and Vanguard related? The battle royale Warzone remains the link between the annual CoD titles. The Live – Season s run in parallel, bringing content to Vanguard and Warzone at the same time. This year, however, the collaboration goes even further and Warzone even takes over the graphics engine from Vanguard.

However, there are even more similarities:

• All Vanguard weapons come to Warzone
• Vanguard’s Cosmetics also work in Warzone
• Shared progress system

There is also a completely new map for the Battle Royale at the start of – Season 1 of Vanguard on December 02. With the launch of “Caldera”, the setting of Warzone changes and a Cold War city becomes a green island in the Pacific.

10. this is what happens after the release

What happens after the release of Vanguard? The new CoD will have about a year’s worth of fresh, free content. There will be new maps for multiplayer, new adventures for zombie mode, and a Battle Pass that will let you unlock over 100 items for just under $10.

Part of the Battle Pass are also new weapons, but you can get them at no additional cost if you level up the pass to the appropriate level. In general, the gameplay-relevant items are completely free of charge, only cosmetics require you to pay extra.

The first Live – Season goes online on December 02. Before that, however, the 17th 6vs6 map will come into play – the Vanguard version of Shipment. More about the plan after the release until the first – Season including a roadmap can be found here.

After the release weekend, we will see how the new Call of Duty is received by players. Especially the setting caused a lot of skepticism during the presentation and is even a reason for many to skip Vanguard.
